I’ve been procrastinating on some tasks I don’t really want to do today. One of the things I’ll often do when I’m procrastinating is tidy and organize things. I realize this may be irritating to some, but as a visual person I find I have trouble thinking clearly with messes all around me. When my space feels under control my challenges don’t feel so insurmountable either. Anyway, I can easily justify this behavior because even if I’m not doing what I should be, at least I’m doing something productive. The added benefit (aside from tidy, organized spaces) in that when I finish I feel better in the space than I did when I started. More in control. That can spur me on to take action on other things.
